Common Problem: Damaged Keyboard

Tech Leader Sunny shows how we handle a fairly common problem at the Help Desk. Students often come in complaining that their keyboard does not function. In some cases, the keyboard has simply malfunctioned and the replacement is covered under the warranty.

In other cases, like the one below, the keyboard has been neglected or abused. In these cases, the cost of the replacement keyboard is paid by the student.

Whenever there's a problem with the keyboard, we also test the netbook's motherboard because sometimes what looks like a keyboard problem is actually a much more serious motherboard issue.

Remember, juniors, your netbooks are going off their extended warranty in May---- if you think you have warranty-covered problems with your netbook, bring it in now so that we can get the repair covered under the warranty!

And don't forget to buy the accidental damage and theft insurance.

Common Problem: Damaged AC Adapter

Hi guys---

We're back on the blog with a new series called "Common Problems."

The goal is to show people (in 60 seconds or less)  the most common netbook problems and how they are resolved when you come into the Help Desk.

Today we look at one scenario where someone's AC adapter has simply stopped working. This happens all the time for a variety of reasons.  In today's video, Tech Leader Willie figures out the problem.

Lots of good tips on properly wrapping up your AC adapter here.

Look for two of these videos per week for the rest of the year!

There are a few different ways to do this, but the way we've used in the video here is the easiest.
