ICE Conference in St. Charles
Niles North Tech Leaders Alec and Reema , along with Niles West Tech Leader Areian spent Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the ICE Conference in St. Charles.
After volunteering at the NICE mini conference in January, the students wanted to experience the larger event. They spent some time by volunteering and learning in the Makers Space area. Enjoyed experimenting with the wide variety of educational toys and helped demonstrate how to use them to the various teachers stopping by the room.
A major highlight was talking to Sylvia from http://sylviashow.com. A junior high student whose maker-centric YouTube channel has over 800,000 subscribers and fans that include President Obama and Adam Savage of Mythbusters fame.

Webcam Recording on Chromebook
Looking for an application to record an interview or record a procedure during class? Then look no further than your Chromebook! You can record that science experiment using your Chromebook and then edit it later.
One of the cooler apps we used was Stupeflix. Capture video with your webcam, add some pictures, and title pages. You can even make duplicate copies of clips and cut them as needed. Create a short video in minutes and share it! Be aware, that every video created is published publicly. To make them private, publish them to your YouTube account. From there, you can change the video listing as private. You can then go back to your Stupeflix account and delete the videos.
